Privacy and terms
Freak Logs lets you share a server log by link. This page says in plain words what that means. It was last changed in October 2026.
The short version
- A log you upload is public to anyone who has the link. The link is 8 random characters, the log is not listed anywhere and search engines are told to stay away, but there is no password. Treat the link like the log itself.
- We remove secrets and public IP addresses before storing a log, and we tell you what was removed. We cannot catch everything: only share what you are comfortable with.
- Logs are deleted automatically after 90 days. You can delete yours earlier.
- There are no accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party requests on this site.
What is stored
- The log text, after cleaning, compressed on our server. Colour codes and control characters are stripped, and what is listed under "Removed automatically" below is replaced with a note.
- Details about the log: its ID, when it was created and when it expires, its size and number of lines, the game it was detected as (and the server and panel name, if the panel that sent it provided them), what the automatic analysis found, and a hash of the delete key (never the key itself).
- A short fingerprint of the sender's network address, not the address. It is a salted one-way hash, kept with the log so that abuse can be recognised and stopped, and removed with the log.
- The server's own technical log records the time, the kind of request, the result, the log ID and size, and a few characters of the same fingerprint. It never contains log text or full addresses. It is rotated weekly and kept for four weeks.
Removed automatically
Your browser removes these before the upload, and the server does it again. If something was removed you are shown how many.
- Public IP addresses (IPv4 and IPv6); local ones (127.x, 10.x, 192.168.x, 172.16-31.x, 169.254.x) stay because they say nothing about a person
- Email addresses
- FiveM licence keys
- FiveM settings that hold secrets (
sv_licenseKey,steam_webApiKey,sv_tebexSecret,rcon_password,mysql_connection_string) - Pterodactyl panel API keys
- Discord webhook addresses
- Discord bot tokens
- GitHub tokens
- AWS access keys
- Private keys
- Bearer and Basic authorization values
- JSON web tokens
- Passwords inside addresses
- Values of settings whose name contains password, secret, token, API key or private key
This is pattern matching. It does not understand your log. Not removed: player names and chat messages, coordinates, server and domain names, file paths, the list of plugins and mods, and anything that does not look like one of the patterns above (a password in a sentence, for example). Read the log before you share it.
How long, and deleting
A log is deleted automatically 90 days after it was created; a daily job removes the expired ones and the link then stops working. When you upload on the website, the delete key is kept in your browser (local storage) so that you can use "Delete this log" while you are on the same browser. Programs that use the API get the key in the reply and can delete with it. If you lost the key, or a log that is not yours contains your personal data, write to support@freakhosting.com with the link and we remove it.
Cookies and tracking
None. The site sets no cookies, loads no scripts, fonts or images from other sites, and has no analytics. Your browser's local storage is used for two conveniences only: the delete keys of your own uploads and the "wrap lines" setting. Both stay in your browser.
Terms of use
- Upload logs of game servers and the software around them. Do not upload anything else: no personal documents, no illegal content, no malware, no content that harasses people.
- Do not use the service to hide or store files, to send many logs automatically beyond the limits (30 uploads per hour and 200 per day per network address, 10 MB per log), or to attack the site.
- We may delete any log, and block an address, without notice, for example when it breaks these rules or on a valid request.
- The service is provided as it is, free, without a guarantee that a log stays available for the whole retention time. Keep your own copy of anything important.
- You are responsible for what you upload. Make sure you may share it.
